Description
A Human Doormat!
“By Katherine Burns” read the by-line in the New York Chronicle, and Kathy felt that everything she had ever dreamed of back home in Florida and worked so hard for in New York had come true. Her career was the one certainly in her life -- the one area where she could throw herself, and for a while forget that she was being used as a human doormat -- the kind to be imposed on and the kind to pull every needy friend or relative out of whatever difficulty they were facing.
The worst offender was her beautiful, spoiled cousin, Dodie Deering, who had come, uninvited, and with poodle, to share Kathy's tiny apartment. Imposing unreasonably on Kathy's time, money, and patience, Dodie also proceeded to complicate Kathy's romance with the Chronicle's city editor, Steven Morrison.
Would Kathy pick herself up and brush off the doormat before she lost her career and the man she loved as well?
