Widowed at fifty, April Taylor made her work at Hart Medical her priority. As a social worker, other people's lives became more important than her own. Then five years later, she meets Clay Wilkins, a security guard at the hospital. She feels young again and is certain she has met the love of her life.

Clay is a once divorced, twice shy bachelor who vowed never to tie the knot again. However, April is irresistible. They think the same way on so many issues, including how to raise children.
