Anne of Cleves, the discarded wife of Henry VIII, sought to find purpose in her life after the annulment of a marriage that lasted only six months. Henry VIII, however, held her in high regards compared to his previous wives and the two developed a friendship that allowed her not only to be one of the wealthiest women in England, but also his true friend. Henry confided in Anne, like no other, and though he liked her not, he developed a kindness and affection towards her that allowed Anne the freedom of a life in England.
