RETURN TO THE PAST...
It was only chance that Melissa Belleau saw William Harrington's ad for a governess for his two motherless children, and an amazing coincidence that he was the latest owner of Belleau House, the "steamboat Gothic" plantation mansion where Melissa's father had grown up and where she had spent many happy vacations as a child. To her delight, very little about the old house had been changed -- the graceful twin stairs, the galleries, the majestic Corinthian columns were the same. So were the cherubs on the ceiling of her old room. So were the stories of "haunts" and curses and secret passages that little Tim and Molly Harrington whispered to her which had given her nightmares as a child. But Melissa was a grown woman now who didn't believe in ghosts. Then why did she experience a mounting feeling of dread? Was it only an overactive imagination, fired by childhood memories? Or was there truly something evil abroad in Belleau House...?
