Description
Michael walked up the steps and bit by bit, he pulled back the thick-heavy curtain.
Near the back, God sat on the Throne.
Michael couldn't discern any sign of His feelings, by the look on His face. Bowing, he asked, “May I approach?”
“Yes. I've been waiting for your return.”
My return? Michael thought. I was waiting for You to come. God's response perplexed him more than ever, but he dismissed his confusion and approached God.
He knelt. Then, he lifted his eyes and searched the Face of God. He waited to hear an order, some Word that would send him back to save Jesus . . . anything to end what was taking place on the earth.
“Jesus hasn't much time left. I know You know this; I mean no disrespect.” Michael knew he had spoken something, almost unthinkable, to question God's heart and action. Michael had seen a lot over the past four-thousand earth years and he couldn't fathom that everything that had happened or taken place, could end with such a tragic outcome, without doing something to stop it.
God rose. “Come. We haven't much time left.”
Finally. Michael dropped his head. With all the pent up emotions released, Michael felt a surge of energy shoot through his spirit. Relieved, Michael obeyed and stood. God is going to do something after all.
In a split second of time, they stood looking down into the opening, the Scroll Area. God raised His hand and a mass of black clouds began to creep across the sky where the crucifixion was taking place. Thunder roared and streaks of lightning began to illuminate the dark skies.
The few that stood near the cross began to scatter, driven by fear that they could have been mistaken . . . that this was truly the Son of God. Soldiers dropped what they were doing, gambling for what was left of Jesus' possessions.
Just when Michael thought God was getting ready to put an end to this injustice, Jesus lifted His eyes. His lips trembled, tears formed in His eyes, and He cried, pulling all His strength to speak, “God. . . . My God, why have You forsaken Me?”
Book Three is a continuation of the plan of God unfolding for mankind. Like many today, Michael did not understand why God did not save His own Son, as He hung on the cross dying. What is behind this plan of God that meant His Son a certain death?
