Description
It suited Noel Prescott to pretend that Peri was his fiancee; if he could not produce a suitable bride he would not be able to control his own fortune. It suited Peri to agree to the deception-- she would have done almost anything to escape from the marriage with a Greek peasant which was being arranged for her. So Noel whisked her away from her Greek village home, back to England, to meet his dour older brother Rok who controlled the purse- strings and who would have to approve his choice of a future wife. But Rok, it soon appeared, was far from happy with the situation . . .
