Annie Brown's father is famous for fighting against slavery. But sometimes he goes too far, Annie thinks. For instance, right now he's hiding eighteen men in a farmhouse, preparing for a raid on government property. And he's asked Annie to be their lookout. Annie's job is to keep her father's secrets.
