I'm Detective Lucien Kane, and usually, being a vampire with a supernatural gift has its perks. I'd kept my identity a secret for decades; only now, my best friend, Officer Theodore Ballard, and partner, Quinn Hastings, know what I am. I hadn't been able to shake Ms. Hastings after my last case when I saved her sister, and now she acts like she owes me a favor. I don't like anyone owing me. When someone starts killing and draining the inhabitants of New Orleans of blood, I'm the one they suspect—and with no other one else on the list, I may have to call in a few IOUs myself. Theodore and Quinn both think I'm guilty, and it's up to me to prove them wrong.
