Fun and Prophet — Andrew E. Moczulski

Eric Margrave, professional monster hunter, is not a fan of religion in general (mostly because most of them seem to have this weird idea that he's going to Hell). But a contract is a contract, and when it seems the Inquisition has found a real, live Prophet who needs a bodyguard, he finds himself once again running alongside an old paladin acquaintance to deliver the kid across the country in safety.

Of course, things are never that simple, particularly when Heaven and Hell are involved, and many, many people are interested in someone who can see the future. Now Eric is mostly just wondering what will get him killed first: the demons, the cults, or his own 'allies'. The answer of course, being none of them... because what REALLY gets you is the thing you never see coming.
