Stroad's Cross — Allen L. Wold

When Michelle Sexton had inherited her grandfather's property, she thought it was a just farmhouse and a few acres. But when she and her sister went to see it, they discovered an entire village, abandoned since 1939. The houses were fully furnished, as if everybody had just run off one day. The only things to show the passage of time were the overgrown trees, and the decades of dust which showed no footprints, even Michelle's.
