Description
DEATH IN THE DESERT
The Chihuahuan desert between Texas and Mexico on the Rio Grande is vast, hot and empty, a land steeped in stark ancient beauty and ruled by a vibrant, sometimes violent border. This primitive borderland is home to trading post owner Texana Jones and her veterinarian husband, Clay.
Violence, now, is across the border in a tiny church, where an itinerant wood carver affectionately called the saint maker has died a gruesome death. A bloody pit bull named Gringo is found standing over the body, but Texana believes there's a deeper mystery involved. Her conviction leads her to the border's most dangerous edge, into the secrets of the underworld of drugs, smuggling, poaching...and death.
