Who on earth was disturbing the Spotted Pipssisewa? That's what Miss Dittany Henbit wanted to know when she found a strange young man from the Water Department running a bulldozer over the already endangered wildflowers on the Enchanted Mountain. No construction was permitted on the Mountain…but then neither was murder. And while the bulldozer carelessly crushed the Canadian flora, someone put a hunted arrow through the Water Commissioner's heart.

Since most of the women in Lobelia Falls were members of the Grub-and-Stake Gardening and Rowing Club and crack shots with the longbow, anyone could have done the dirty deed. And Dittany found even her best friends suspect when a bake sale cooked up big trouble and a town election mixed all the ingredients of a sticky situation with very sudden death.
