The game stops for no one. Slim knows this and feels it is time for him and his friends to get out of the game and the city. With Charlize pushing him to get out the game like the other men, he tells her he'd think about it and gives her the money to purchase their home on the outskirts of Denver. His thinking was that he could use the home as vacation house and for the moment he'd keep her happy. While the women of the crew are in Colorado taking care of business, Reese is spotted by Detective Devin Anderson out on the town with another woman. Devin takes several photos of Reese and the anonymous woman as they cuddle, kiss and drink at the House of Blues. He hopes to use the photos to sway Charlize into helping him take down Reese and ultimately the crew.The Mexican cartel is making moves to take over distribution to the south side of Chicago. Chacho has put in play moves that will forever scar the men and women of the crew. He knows Chavez is the first one he needs to take out and he waits until The Big Mexican is alone with Carlita and LaDonna to make his play. He accomplishes it and a similar move that rips Slim's heart out leaving him to wonder why he didn't make his move to pull his crew out of the game sooner.This is the second to last installment of the superbly written series that has readers feeling as if they are a part of the crew.
