Albert Payson Terhune (1872 â€" 1942) was an American author, journalist, and avid dog breeder, famous for his almost innumerable novels narrating the uncanny adventures of his beloved collies. The first and most popular of Terhune's dog-based novels was Lad: A Dog(1919), popular with both children and adults and reprinted over 80 times before being turned into a film in the 1960s. Other work by this author includes: True Dog Stories (1936), My Friend The Dog (1926), and Real Tales of Real Dogs (1935). This book was originally published in 1928 and is proudly republished now with a new biography of its author.
