“How is he?” I quickly questioned the doctor at Capital Hospital Center, as I stepped briskly through the main lobby.
“Misses Guenard...” The tabby cat doctor began slowly. “You do realize...Your husband, Gevo, has just been shot.”
“Yes. I am indeed aware of that, doc.” I replied, discreetly sighing with a rather stern look of concern. “What's his current condition?”
“I'm afraid he's critical, miss. But, we're doing everything we possibly can. Unfortunately, we had to remove half of his right lung.”
“What?!” I piped up, immediately with anguish. “I mean, how is he going to live? How is he going to breathe?”
“Ma'am. It's okay.” The doctor quickly corrected himself. “He's on a breathing machine right now; as we speak, and we'll keep you posted on updates and such as we go along with the rest of his recovery process.”
