About the Author

THE DAUGHTERS OF THE PRINCE is the last novel of Noel Barber who died in 1988.He was the author of many noted works of non-fiction including THE FALL OF SINGAPORE and THE WAR OF THE RUNNING DOGS. He also wrote a marvellously entertaining autobiography, THE NATIVES WERE FRIENDLY SO WE DECIDED TO STAY.

Turning to fiction writing at the end of his great career as a journalist, Noel Barber was immediately successful with TANAMERA, a novel of Singapore, This was followed by
A FAREWELL TO FRANCE, THE OTHER SIDE OF PARADISE and THE WEEPING AND THE LAUGHTER.
