Luisa Maria Linares-Becerra y Martin was born on 1915 in Madrid, Spain. She was the daughter of Luis Linares-Becerra, a playwright, and Maria Concepcion Martin de Eugenio. One of her sisters was the novelist Concha Linares-Becerra. On 1933, she married Antonio Carbo y Ortiz-Repiso and had two daugthers. Her husband died on 1936, during the Spanish Civil War. She started to writing to newspapers, and she published her first novels on 1939. She published 32 novels, which have been translated into several languages and adapted to film 22 times. Luisa-Maria Linares died on 12 September 1986 in Estoril, Portugal.
