He wrote american western novels as Arthur Thomas and under the pseudonyms of Arthur Hodson, Roy Peters, John Saunders, and Matt Winstan from 1956 to 1968. He married the also English writer Hilda Nickson, née Hilda Pressley. He passed away on 5 January 1974.
