Gary Elmes is a New Zealand-based author of crime fiction. Demand Generation is his first full-length novel.
Born in London in 1961, he spent most of his childhood in Essex. After leaving school, he had a brief stint working in banking before heading to the University of Bristol to study economics. After graduating in 1983, he returned to London to work in IT.
In 1988 he moved to New Zealand, more-or-less on a whim. He now lives in the bush-clad Waitakere Ranges to the West of Auckland.
As well as crime fiction, he has also published a variety of articles on topics as diverse as computer hardware, New Zealand current affairs, the economics of the software industry, and gun control.
