Barbara Hart was born in Lancashire and educated at a convent boarding school in North Wales.
At 21 she moved to New York, where she became an advertising copywriter with the Ogilvy & Mather agency. After two exciting and enjoyable years in the U.S.A. she returned to England, where she continued to work as a copywriter, and later, as a television press officer.
As a copywriter at J Walter Thompson she invented the slogan ""Asda Price puts a jingle in your pocket"" (tap, tap). At Granada Television she worked as publicist for many television programs, including Coronation Street and World in Action.. She decided to quit ""the best job in television"" to try her hand at writing romance fiction. After several unsuccessful attempts, she finally succeeded and her first novel, Her Father’s Daughter, was published in the Mills & Boon Medical Romance series in May 2000.
She lives in Cheshire and is married to a solicitor (""the world’s best proofreader"") and they have two grown-up sons.
