Anthony McCarten's debut novel, Spinners, was internationally acclaimed and has been translated into six languages. He has written twelve stage plays, including the worldwide, prize-winning success Ladies' Night. His play Via Satellite - which he adapted into a feature film and directed himself - premiered at the 1999 Cannes Film Festival. His screenplay The Theory of Everything is currently under development in Hollywood.
Born in 1961, Anthony McCarten grew up in New Plymouth, New Zealand, and currently divides his time between Wellington, London and Los Angeles.
