Whoever Has the Heart — Jennie Melville

As a refuge from her job, police inspector Charmian Daniels buys a restful weekend country cottage in the picturesque village of Bridewell. Charmian retreats for a well-earned rest, but uncovers a host of demons from the village's past when finds a body near her yard, or... parts of one. The discovery of part of the local beauty's body nearby proves that Charmian's new neighbors are neither quaint nor charming.
