Blackwater Bayou — Marilyn Austin

Leslie Ware, a young artist from California, had always been curious about the vast estate of Blackwater Bayou that would one day be hers by right of inheritance. In particular, the feud with the neighboring estate that had raged for many years seemed to have some unknown origin. All these thoughts ran through her mind when she set foot in the enchanting home. But, before she could even venture a guess, she found the body of her mother drowned beneath the footbridge of the rival home.
