In the Adventures of Arianna, I have tried to utilize the elements of fantasy and adventure to take the reader to a land removed from reality. My story's title character, Princess Arianna, is informed by the Angel Rashida that Arianna's Uncle Cecil had his niece disposed of to prevent her from ruling over the land of Nod that is rightly hers. Arianna must conceal her identity as a girl as well as a Princess for her own safety. Rashida was a wise counsel for the days that await Arianna: 'Just be yourself, and you will do fine. Do not lose heart.' The tale combines both romance and adventure. David, trapped in a dungeon at the story's onset, emerges to provide Arianna's love interest and companion for the story. I have a broad array of subordinate characters, including Kind Paul, Salt, Pepper, Troll, and Uranius among many others. The story leads Arianna on her dual mission of protecting herself and reclaiming her rightful territory. She is given rest by King Paul in the land of Tuson. The monarch will go on to become a key ally of the story. Arianna is determined to reclaim her crown and deal with her treacherous uncle. By the end of the story Queen Arianna and King David receive their crowns in the presence of King Paul and Queen Lisa, and the friends they met along the way.
