Wells, Wool and Wickedness — Sarah J. Waldock

Felicia and Robin go to Italy for the sake of the health of their adopted daughter, Pernel, but Florence is not the perfect haven Felicia remembers it from the perspective of a child. As well as social obligations, the De Curtney-Robertini family find themselves in a supposedly haunted house, interrupted by sundry unpleasant people, and simultaneously tracking down smugglers and what appears to be some people with very nasty habits.
