This book, which is the second volume in a three part series, covers the Teachings of Jesus, from the time he began his ministry after returning from the desert, until his death and resurrection. Based primarily on the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, this book merges each of those stories together in chronological order so that the story of Jesus is not confusing, or requires flipping back and forth in different books of the Bible. Also, the most loved verses and stories from the Old Testament, like the Psalms, Songs of Solomon, and the story of Ruth and Naomi, are integrated into the story of Jesus. The roles of Mary and John in Jesus' personal life are highlighted. This is a new retelling of the story of Jesus designed for the issues of our time, and forming the basis for a Jesus-centered approach to worship. If you long for a book that focuses only on the teachings that Jesus taught, without the different messages of the Old Testament and the writings of Paul, this book is designed for you. It is best to use this book following Part I: The Education of Jesus, but it is also possible to use this book by itself, as a convenient text for people to use in church services and individual or group readings.
