In the desert lands of Hakanna, a god visits a lich king. This lich is granted the ability to forge a massive army of undead.

Not long after the first cities fall to the lich king's army does the word of this evil spread to the northern continent of Relkin. Here a band of adventurers led by a battle cleric named Bolin decides to recruit an army of Relkin soldiers, adventurers, and would be heroes.

Bolin and his friends lead their army on ship to Hakanna's lands, but not before they run into trouble of their own. When reaching Hakanna's shores they discover the war is as bad as their informants have told them.

The war has brought out just about every creature both evil and good out of their homes to fight. If the lich king's forces should triumph, the entire world is in jeopardy of becoming undead.

There are some surprises along the way, and before it is over, planes of light and dark will be unleashed upon Akris.
