The Ghost of a First Love

Sunset Acres, a retirement village on Florida's Gulf Coast, offered nurse Martia Stapleton the ideal opportunity to immerse herself in her geriatric work and so wipe out the loneliness and heartbreak she had been suffering since the death of her fiancé eight years ago. Martia knew with bitter clarity how much love could hurt when you lost the one you loved, so she resolved to guard herself against falling in love again.

But handsome Dr. Peter Hayden saw in Martia not only a competent and devoted nurse, but also the ideal woman for whom he had been searching. Martia liked Peter from the day they had met, and soon, feeling herself in grave danger of falling in love with him, she turned away in panic.

Was Martia still in love with the past? Would the ghost of her first love haunt her and stand between her and Peter, leaving Martia with a wasted life, unwanted and unloved? It would take the sharp bite of jealousy to open Martia's eyes…but would it be in time?
