When Geraldine Neaves accepts the contract as Theatre Sister at St Vincent's Hospital in Hong Kong, she is unprepared for the arrogant but clever surgeon, Andrew Wetherall or the Theatre Staff Nurse, the beautiful but spiteful Mineta Carlisle. It is only through the friendship of Sister Casualty and Andrew's deputy Mike Caswell that she finds life tolerable. Her emotional problems are eventually resolved but not before many upheavals that take place in her life.
