The dark shape rolled the ball around in its slightly clawed fingers. It had been told not to play with them, but the desire had been too strong. Blue. The color of the sky - homeland of heaven. Who would have thought the sinner would have eyes of this color.
He popped one in his mouth. The urge to chew was quite strong.
The wall opened up and a great eye peered through.
Fear, immediate and burning, melted the demon to nothing inside in an instant. He spat out the eye ball and left it to roll on the floor.
The huge eye disappeared. It had been a warning.
The demon carefully picked the eyeball up and placed it in the glass jar full of salty smelling liquid. He would not touch it again.
The monster's mind turned to other things. How would it entrap and kill the great Sinner? It was something he would need to ponder.
