The action to this epic is set in a world where Occult Powers, Deadly Magic and Lethal Preternatural Forces take the place of science and technology.

READER BEWARE: This is NOT Harry Potter country! Adult themed, the novel contains graphic scenes of violence, death, torture and sexual exploitation.

The two main protagonists, Fray Bowen and Sarra Morrell, are twenty year old, second year, students at the University. They live together and love each other deeply.

Two unknown devices, forced upon them by a pair of bizarre couriers, take control of their lives and unexpectedly abduct them from their home and transport them into the dark, deadly domains of a demonic despot, called LongEye.

This cruel, tyrannical oppressor wields unspeakable supernatural strength, and rules over everything, and everyone, with a psychic power which enables him to invade and control human dreams. He is nourished in the Occult Realms by the pain and terror which he thus inflicts directly into the core of every living human soul.

Up until the moment when the universe changes around them, Fray and Sarra were simply two ordinary young people getting on with their lives. But the strange and dangerous world in which they find themselves leaves them completely out of their depth. They are surrounded, and beset, by lies and deceit, treachery, fear and death. Peril, and an ever-present threat of torment, stalks this world and they believe nowhere is ‘safe', until they are helped by a local woman; a former slave who is, herself, on the run from her cruel masters.

Sarra and Fray discover that Fate and Destiny operate as actual tangible entities in this world, exerting an influence over humanity that is measurable, often inducing physical consequences.

They are eventually led to understand that they were specifically chosen by Fate to come here. They must complete a perilous, yet vital, commission before they can return home; however, the nature of this task is deliberately concealed from them. They are required to discover for themselves the actions which they must undertake, in order to ensure that they will commit to it and fully accept the responsibilities that will follow.

When Sarra is brutally murdered by the servants of LongEye, Fray's entire universe falls apart. He flees the site with aid of the local woman who helped them, and falls in with a small group of refugees, from whom he discovers the real value of friends and allies; of truth and courage; of love and obligation.

Fray is subsequently captured by the Tyrant's minions and endures physical torture, torment and unspeakable occult violation before his new acquaintances help him to escape. It is only then that he finally understands the reason why he was brought to this strange world. He learns that its very existence, as well as the safety of our own, and the preservation of a third place, a sanctuary long-since believed lost in legend, lies in the hands of an orphaned child. An eight year old girl.

He comes to understand that his mission from the outset has always been to find her, rescue her and protect her from the vile perversions, ruthless aggression and untrammelled hatred of the Occult Oppressor. . .
