The Civil War Widow and the Prairie Preacher

They say that everyone deserves a second chance, and Evelyn McAdams certainly was in need of one. . .

When her husband is killed at the Battle of Gettysburg, she and her young son are left destitute, and Evelyn's faith in God is shaken to its core. Unable to pay for her husband's remains to be returned to her, or even buried properly, she is forced into a momentous decision.

When a friend suggests she consider becoming a mail order bride, she decides to take control of her life. After corresponding with a prairie preacher who has decided to take over as pastor of a small church, she sets off on a journey westward to make a new life for herself and her son with Pastor Emmett Pafford. Perhaps God has provided a way for her after all.

But when she arrives, she finds a man who doesn't seem to fit her expectations of what a pastor should be. When he insists that they leave town immediately after they are married, Evelyn begins to doubt her decision, and to suspect Emmett might be keeping something from her.

As they spend their first night together on the prairie, Evelyn learns her suspicions were right. Emmett tells her that an evil man is following them, and that he will stop at nothing to kill Emmett for something that happened in his past, before he became a preacher.

When the man gets closer to the couple, Emmett is forced to fight for the lives of his new wife and son as he relies on God's guidance to help him.

˃˃˃ Will Evelyn and her son find the second chance they so desperately need, or will her decision to marry Emmett only bring disaster?

˃˃˃ Will Evelyn's faith be strengthened by their dilemma, or will she lose the small seed of faith she's been clinging to since her husband's death?

˃˃˃ Can Emmett find a way to protect his new family from the evil that pursues him, or will they become the victims of this evil man's plans?

˃˃˃ And will Emmett and Evelyn find love for each other, and renew their faith and love for God?
