The Cardinal's Conscience — J.R. Mathis

Myer College student Gwen Tolson receives word that her mother was murdered in Baltimore. The woman turns out to be the daughter of Saint Clare's parish secretary Anna Luckgold and the newly minted Cardinal Archbishop Knowland, given up for adoption over forty years before. When it's discovered she was trying to blackmail the Archbishop and Father Wayne is arrested for her murder, Cardinal Knowland asks for Father Tom and Helen's help to clear the name of his right-hand man.
