Gordon Forrester need someone like life-loving Dulcie to help him find happiness again, and she thought being needed would be enough...until she met his brother Andy.

A Heart Divided

When the supervisor of the steno pool at Butler-Bayliss Enterprises sent Dulcie Gilhousen up to Gordon Forrester's office, she did it with her fingers crossed. Forrester had a way of sending her girls back, in tears. But redheaded Dulcie wasn't easily intimidated . . . which may have been why Gordon, a socially prominent young widower, was attracted to her. Dulcie, only 19, was confused about her own feelings. Up to now, her heart had belonged to the river and the boating outings she shared with the father she adored. But, flattered by Gordon's attention -- and egged on by her ambitious mother--she began to think of love and marriage. Then, on a weekend at the Forrester family's summer place, she met Andy Forrester. Andy who loved boats as much as she did. Andy who made her heart stop. Andy whose brother had just proposed to her.

The Observer...
Andy, at the helm, half-turned to look at her. "I understand you like boats," he said. "Would you like to take the wheel?"
Dulcie gazed star-eyed at him. "Gosh, could I?"
"Sure. Come on..."
As she changed places with him, she saw him smile. Dulcie's heart gave a leap. It seemed ages since she had seen a real smile.
She was unaware of Gordon, inside the cabin, watching them...
