Tark is a delicate often poetic novella length sci-fi story set between 2068 and 2126, and attempts to imagine life and society from the perspective of L'Oréal Snowdel, a young citizen of England whose entire life is lived on a futuristic train. The story follows L'Oréal's life over a 30+ year period as she raises her son, Tark, destined to be a musical genius. Her story is partially narrated by Luthien Clarke (son of Ellen & Ronan Clarke in the sci-fi novel Rise), a time traveler from the first half of the 21st century, and poses the question: did Luthien's appearance impact the course of L'Oréal's life and in particular her son, Tark's life as his magical music unwittingly attracts love in the form of an Enhanced super assassin, Sylph da Silva, ironically from the same time period as Luthien? Sylph falls in love with Tark and together they have twins, Silesia and Shra whose lives' become the subject of the epic trilogy Macrolis. Another thought-provoking novella from genetic engineering hard sci-fi writer Mark Miller, the author of seven sci-fi titles including: Mi; Rise; Diana; and the epic trilogy, Macrolis. Mark was born in London, England. He started his career as a decorator before going to law school. After graduating from law school Mark relocated to the USA and lived in New York, Los Angeles and eventually Oakland, CA. Mark (AKA Octavious Sage) is an accomplished modern contemporary artist, philosopher and historian with a passion for creative design technology, languages, science & mathematics. Tark attempts to reimagine time travel and its inevitable effects on the mind and mundanity of our future selves.
