A mystery starting in Palm Springs it involves the CIA and other intelligence services. Ralph Black head of the CIA can barely recall his kidnapping by criminals years before. On finding out his captors were in fact the M15 results in him being cared for by Dr Frederick Bannister and his very fit employees. Powerful Russians are investigated by the M16 which isn't revealed to the M15 resulting in a very public court case.
