The course of true love never did run smooth. The road between Atlanta, Georgia and the town of Hanlin where Mya Powers hopes to secure her position, as economic development specialist, doesn't run all that smoothly either. Caught in a snow jam â€" an epic traffic jam on the interstate caused by an unexpected, early spring blizzard â€" Mya reaches out to friends via social media, looking for a way off the highway.

But when her best friend Sunny sends beautiful backwoods bad boy Rick Barnes of the volunteer Jeep rescue group to her side, Mya's troubles are just starting. Independent and strong, Mya's usually in control of her own life, but losing her position with the economic development alliance in Las Vegas after the last recession has left her feeling uncertain and out of control. So when Rick comes charging to the rescue, a knight in somewhat rusty armor, she's half grateful and half incensed. Who does he think he is?

When the rescue leads to an overnight stay in a rural cabin and with that, unexpected passion, Mya's life spins into confusion. She doesn't expect to ever see Rick Barnes again and she's just fine with that â€" isn't she? Four months later when she relocates to Georgia to start her new job and her new life, Mya finds that very few courses in life ever run smooth â€" and sometimes the journey is just as important as the destination.
