Silver Sound — Renee Farrington

Rima Lawford has lived a quiet life in a small seaside town, keeping house for her mother and brother, her early ambitions for a career in music shattered by her father's death.

The arrival in the neighborhood of a world-famous pianist, who takes Rima under her wing, almost coincides with the appearance of a handsome young doctor, who comes to treat Rima's mother. Rima finds the ensuing conflict of loyalties almost too much to cope with, before the situation is finally resolved.
