Shattered Dreams — Richard Guidice

After years of rejection, Ed Stein finally explodes with deadly results. The aspiring writer decides to stalk the agents that have passed on his work. After he kills the first one, he begins to detail the crime in a journal, believing it will make an interesting novel.

Detectives Napoli and Franklin investigate the case. They quickly discover the link between the victims and make a list of authors rejected by the agents.

Stein continues the murders, carefully choosing from those that have wronged him. To make the killings and novel more exciting, he varies his method with each victim. Some are shot, others stabbed or strangled.

Napoli and Franklin meet with Dr. Sandra Moover who provides them with a profile of the killer. Despite their investigation, more literary agents continue to meet their demise.

Will the detectives stop the deranged author or will Stein claim more victims?
