Before she found the strange birth certificate hidden away in her attic, she'd been Paige Evans, a beautiful young woman brought up by a loving cousin, recently deceased. Then in a matter of minutes she became Paige Alexander. And soon she was an unwanted guest at gloomy Sefton Acres, the old Alexander estate. The present inhabitants, the Landry family, called Paige an impostor. Yet they surrounded her with dark hints that made her think the huge house was somehow her home.
