This story is about 3500 words.

An attractive woman with long black hair and a slightly tanned look entered the building carrying a rather expensive handbag under her arm. There was something not quite right about her. She glanced at the man.
So the cavalry has arrived. And such attractive cavalry too. He guessed he might as well start things off for his pursuers.
He briskly made his way to the staff entrance of the hotel. A bellboy skipped out of his way as he pushed through - he clearly meant business.
A scuffling from behind indicated the chase was on.
He sprinted down the hallway. A man in a porter's uniform stepped around the corner, his hand covered by a long white coat.
Sean dived to the side on instinct and drew his gun from his pocket. The man got off one silenced shot that dented the wall next to Sean's head before Sean's own wild shot pounded the floor at the man's feet.
Sean rushed across the hall and slammed through the door. Woman pressing white sheets on old looking steam presses screamed as he belted through the room to the door on the other side.
The door opened as he reached it and he barely missed being stabbed in the face by a scared man with a barrel chest.
Sean brought his gun around the door and fired a shot into the doorframe as the other man appeared on the other side of the room lining him up.
The guy with the knives stepped through and cut out at Sean. There slash told tales: This man was skilled.
Sean blocked the knife on the barrel of his gun and slipped around the man to end up with the barrel sitting square on the back of the man's head. There was a moment of hesitation as the other man screamed something in Russian that Sean didn't quite hear.
Not willing to waste time on a standoff, Sean stepped back out of the door to the sound of a bullet impacting the wall where he had been standing.
