RAM's Horn
World War II has been over for three years, and Jim Colling's Army enlistment has ended. He has returned to the States after more than two years with the occupation in postwar Germany. Colling anticipates settling down to a quiet life and pursuing a civilian career. When an attempt is made by Soviet agents to assassinate him, he and his new wife are forced into hiding, and Colling must seek help from an old friend, intelligence officer Lieutenant Colonel Quarles, in an effort to prevent further attacks. He learns that Quarles has disappeared in communist Yugoslavia while seeking to contact a Russian nuclear physicist who is attempting to defect to Israel. When Colling takes on the task of finding Quarles, he cannot foresee that he will be asked by Israeli intelligence to pose as a member of the SS to free the scientist from his Arab captors. What follows is Colling's most dangerous assignment yet. Robert McCurdy served as senior house legal counsel to a large Florida hospital and health care system for 30 years prior to his retirement in 2005. Before becoming an attorney, he practiced pharmacy in community drug stores, hospitals and military healthcare facilities. During his legal career, he authored numerous articles dealing with healthcare law, and served as writer and producer for healthcare educational films. Ram's Horn is the third book in the Dog Robber series. Rat Line is the sequel to his first novel, Dog Robber. Some of the events in Rat Line are drawn from Mr. McCurdy's experiences as an enlisted man in the U.S. Army Medical Corps in Germany during the Cold War years of early 1960's. He lives with his wife in Cape Coral, Florida.
