A Chinese vase purchased by antiques dealer Victor De Chassenay is found to contain a hundred thousand dollars. When Mike Faraday, the laconic LA private eye, is engaged by De Chassenay to investigate, he is rapidly drawn into a web of violence and terror. But Mike, aided by his secretary, Stella, battles through, meeting on the way pottery owner J.J. Jacobi and his nubile sister, Deirdre. Not to mention X, the unknown factor, who always seems a step ahead until the final showdown.
