Paradise for a Sinner
The best cure for a lost love is a new love. Samoan Adam Malala, cornerback for the New Orleans Sinners football team, arrives at quarterback Joe Dean Billodeaux's ranch seeking advice about women. Jilted by his village princess fiancée who plans to marry his best friend, Adam has no desire to return to the islands for the off-season. Joe, however, is busy coping with two children who suddenly show up on his doorstep, one of them in a wheelchair and claiming to be his natural son. Adam finds his own solution to his woes by applying the Samoan maxim, "the best cure for a lost love is a new love" to Winnie Green, a newly divorced nurse who comes to take care of the handicapped child. Winnie has always planned ahead and done what her family expects of her, but now she is ready for a wild fling with Adam. They leave for American Samoa where Winnie discovers easygoing, laidback Adam is a very complex man caught between honoring traditional ways and living his life as a star football player. As she falls in love with him, she fears she will always be second best to the beautiful island virgin he planned to marry and never understand the Samoan way of life. When Adam is accused of a terrible crime, Winnie must use her foreign ways to prove his innocence.
