"Don't think I'll go so easy. I know your tricks."
The bones in his hand started to crack under the superior strength of the woman who held him captive.
"You should have come back."
His knuckles popped and his hand shattered in her grasp. She stepped away and put one heeled foot into the small of his back before kicking him down the stairs.
He went over and over, hitting his head again and again. She landed next to him and blocked a crossbow bolt directed her way.
"See how strong I am."
He saw and he was afraid. How far had she gone down the dark path to produce this level of hurt in him. He pulled himself up to his knees.
Her fist lifted him to his feet.
"You were always too strong for your own good."
He threw a wild punch that connected with the side of her head. She blinked at him.
"Is that really the best you can do after all this time?"
He grimaced. His free hand ached as much as his broken hand did now.
A beam of light came down through the roof and slammed into Kerry. She fell back and for the first time Sin saw her true form. Face blacken under the white paint she had used to hide the darkening of her skin and tail flipping from left to right, she was the picture of a she-demon.
He didn't have long to admire her. Balance dropped through the roof just as she summoned to large axes of blue flickering fire and hauled them his way.
Balance didn't take it that well. Being a demigod made him fairly indestructible, but it didn't mean he could fight. The axes chopped off both of his arms and rotated around to take his legs before hovering around Kerry's dark form.
Sin ignored Balance's screams. He would reform quickly given the right amount of time. Sin had to worry about himself.
