Nancy opened her tired eyes. "What's our program for tonight?"
"Your program is to go straight to bed," Dr. Wade said. "You look exhausted. I don't want you sick..."
She rose in protest. "But I must go back to the hospital tonight. There's so much to do..."
He got up and faced her. "I'm looking after the patients." He studied her tenderly. "You know, until tonight I never realized how beautiful you are."
"Beautiful!" She gave a dismayed little laugh. "I'm a sight! I haven't even washed my face properly."
"You are lovely," he said, and took her in his arms...
