Jill's Hollywood Assignment — Marguerite Nelson

Jill Lohman, only two years out of journalism school in Montana, already stands in line for a promotion at her Hollywood newspaper. She works hard, writes concisely, uses contacts throughout the movie business, and never gets caught up in media frenzy that she helps to create. So she's surprised when handsome young actor Rake Nelson flirts with her at an interview. He's diverting her attention from her college boyfriend and now husband wannabe, Bill Wilson, who runs an advertising sheet in a small town about two hours from Los Angeles. Then a former roommate, beautiful Martha Durant, shows up for a screen test. Jill pulls strings to get Martha's career going in the right direction but harbors increasing doubts about everything Hollywood.
