Behind Hospital Doors --
In the ambulance that started through New York traffic to East Side General Hospital lay two charred lumps of flesh. One was dead, the other dying. Close behind raced the police squad car.
The hospital loudspeaker called insistently.
“Dr. Gray. Dr. Andrew Gray. Wanted at once in emergency O.R.”
Thus began an explosive twenty-four hours during which the lives of many men and women were violently changed, some by love, some by danger, some by greed, some by murder.
