Were you in Dominic Dillon's shoes, on the verge of a major scientific breakthrough -- what would you do? He's done a big thing! And is about to pay a big price unless he sells out….meaning, among much else, sell himself out. So, should he give up? Knuckle under? stand his ground, go it alone, be what he's been all your life -- a stubborn-minded maverick. Dillon is a “man for others”…a man who cares for the misbegotten, the god-forgotten. Even at the start, as an orphaned street kid in Baltimore, it was that way for him… troubles …plenty of them…no one to turn to…then a ray of light when the Jesuits stepped in, putting him on the path of being “a man for others” and fixing it so he become a world-class geneticist…which is when the real trouble kicks in. Exiled to Africa, Dillon happens into an age-old tribal cure that has vast implications for health-care worldwide. So vast, so unique, that it shakes Big Pharma…it beggars the bloated medical bureaucracies…even inflames the Vatican…it so bedevils the Swiss government, they come near to doing away with Dillon, if he refuses to turn over his discovery…much is stake, and ill winds blow from many quarters. And then, and by no means least or last, we have two women, who profoundly shape him? When all is stacked up, his quest in life -- “to be a man for others” -- is roundly thwarted simply because he wants to do the right thing by others. One is left to wonder: “If a good thing for others is too good, does it have any real chance of happening?” Or will fate insert itself, side by side with human greed? Or is it just the luck of the roll going against someone who, at bottom, is a card-carrying idealist unfit for the trenches of a world bent on other aims? Can he survive all that is arrayed against him? Have a look at the first chapter or two -- a good way to find out…and not a bad way to stay awake….

Dillon is a “can he pull it off” series, with its first three volumes now available. Thrillers all. If wanting to know more about my other stories, please look me up on Amazon. Check out the reviews. I'll meet you there…at any time you wish…we're open 7/24…

NOTE: Under a different “working title”, this novel was submitted in a “Writer's Digest” competition. The reviewer described it as a “stunning” novel. See what you think…if you read it, don't like it, tell me why. I'll replace it with another equivalent e-book of your choice. All you do is tell me of your dislike in two sentences and I'll do the rest…but I'll need a proof of purchase. Why not give Dillon a look…you can read the first part free.
