Amity's outraged scream rang through the graveyard. The deceptively gentle-looking spiritualist Sekhar had stolen her aunt's money and turned her into a pauper. Amity vowed to expose him, but one of his followers warned that Sekhar would seek revenge -- that his enemies suffered losses by supernatural means.
To Amity this was one more line in their con game -- until a freak accident started an argument between her and her fiancé -- ending in a broken engagement.
